CCRC Foundation Scholarship is a local community oriented merit scholarship program that helps support student’s post secondary educational needs

CCRC Foundation was started in 1994 by Debbie and Gordon Giffin.  It is incorporated under separate 501c(3). The foundation made out its 1st scholarship was in 1999, 2nd in 2000. Over 120 have people have contributed to the foundation. In 2013, the foundation transferred its the financial responsibilities to The Pittsburgh Foundation.  This transfer has allowed for the scholarships to continue on forever, independent of the club.

Current Endowment just under $400,000 but generating income is the most important thing

Scholarship Awards   

  • Initial scholarship awards were $1000 per year, which was increased to $1250 in 2011, $1500 in 2013 and $2000 in 2014.
  • Most scholarships are renewable for up to 4 years.
  •  To date 28 different recipients have received a total of $99,500
